England’s Solanki retires
London
--
Former England batsman Vikram Solanki announced his retirement from cricket yesterday.
The 39-year-old played in 51 one-day internationals and three Twenty20 internationals for England between 2000 and 2007.
Solanki, formerly of Worcestershire but now with Surrey, said: “Whilst the realisation that my playing days are coming to an end is naturally difficult to come to terms with, the decision to retire is one that I have had some time to think about. Solanki scored over 18,000 first-class runs.
