Bahrain’s Nadia Al Awadhi (1,123 pin falls, 187.2 average) clinched gold including a high game (202) yesterday in the women’s singles of the Seventh Men’s and Third Women’s Arab Bowling Championships at the Ozone Bowling Centre at the Sitra Mall.

Al Awadhi posted a high score of 202 in the six-game competition to give Bahrain its first gold of the championships which run until next Sunday featuring singles, doubles, trios, team and masters competition.

Egypt’s Alia Mohammed (1,083, 180.5) and a high game (199) claimed the silver medal and compatriot Hala Boilakmpha (1,057, 176.2) with a high game (206) the bronze.

Bahrain’s Noora Majed finished fifth, Layla Al Janahi seventh and Majeda Taher ninth who also had the highest game score (217) in the competition.

A total of 24 bowlers with four each from Bahrain, Egypt, Iraq, Kuwait, Oman and UAE were in the fray.
