Falah leads third round as qualifying wraps up
Yousef Falah enjoyed a stellar final night of qualifying on Wednesday to lead six players directly into the third round of the 2019 edition of The Godfathers Tournament, currently being played at Funland Centre. Falah headed into the day’s events needing to roll a good score to claim a place in the top two amongst the competition’s elite bowlers in Group A, and he did just that.
The star Bahraini bowler leapfrogged his closest rivals and went directly to first place on the division standings, clinching an automatic berth in Round Three and bypassing the second stage. Others to join him in promotion were Fawaz Abdulla who was second in Group A, Mustafa Qaed and Mohammed Mahmoud who were the top two from Group B, and AJ Edwards and Hisham Mohammed who were the leading pair of Group C.
These six bowlers must now wait for those who qualified for the second round to battle it out. The bowlers ranked third through 12th in each group are set to feature in Round Two, where they will play a total of six games.
