Shaikh Nasser receives Asian Cross Country Championship winners

Manama : HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and President of Bahrain Olympic Committee received HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and President of Bahrain Athletic Federation.
HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa presented members of winning national team in the 13th Asian Cross-country Championship which was held in the Kingdom. Abdulrahman Askar, General Secretary of Bahrain Olympic Committee also attended the meeting.

HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa lauded the Bahrain team members for achieving good results in the championship, reflecting the high sports capabilities of the Kingdom and the care provided by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to local sports. He asserted that the patronage of His Majesty the King provides the perfect environment for athletes to excel in the different sports championships.

HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa also commended on HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa for his endless efforts to develop local athletic sports, which saw a noticeable improvement and accomplished good results lately in Arabian, regional and international sports events.

HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa welcomed and congratulated members of Bahrain Athletic Federation and the national team. He also appreciated the organising committees of the championship for bringing out a successful event and proved the Kingdom’s competency to host regional and international sports events.

On his part, HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa thanked HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa for his never-ending support to Bahraini athletes and athletic events.

HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa presented the Bahraini athletes who achieved good results in the championship by winning 11 coloured medals including 4 gold, 4 silver and 3 bronze medals.

HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa noted that the achievement is a result of the constant support provided by HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa and his wise vision to develop Bahraini sports on all aspects.

He asserted that the support and care of HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa reflected in receiving the members of the winning teams, Bahrain Athletic Federation, administrational crews, trainers and referees who took part in the championship.

It’s worth mentioning that Bahrain national team won the first places in the adults and juniors contests in males, females, individuals and teams categories of the championship, proving the kingdom’s excellence in Asian sports.

In conclusion of the meeting, HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa received two medals from Mohammed Jalal, Deputy President of Bahrain Athletic Federation.
