Youngsters win Porsche Monday Madness Golf
Ali Al Kowari and playing partner Daij Khalifa (24 points) won the penultimate competition of the six-week long Porsche Monday Madness Night Golf Series at the Royal Golf Club for the second consecutive week in the better ball stableford format.
The in-form pair now sit in second place in the overall order of merit with just one more competition to play.
In a reversal of fortunes, last week’s runners up Mohammed Akeel and Iftikhar Butt (22) came third this week while last week’s third place pairing of Ahmed Mohammed Ahmed and Ali Al Hakam (23) managed to take the runners up spot this week.
Akeel and Butt (11 points) currently top the series order of merit with 11 Nearest the Pin side contests on holes 12 and 16 were won by Ali Al Hakam and Tapan Vaidya respectively.
Porsche branded flags and models of the Porsche Cayenne were displayed on the golf course for the duration of the competition.
The evening was rounded off with a prize presentation ceremony in the Club’s Members’ Lounge where Sohail Singh, the Royal Golf Club’s Tournament Coordinator, was on hand to present the prizes on behalf of Porsche Centre Bahrain.
This series takes place at the Royal Golf Club every Monday and is a nine-hole competition open to non-members and tees off with a 6:30pm shotgun start.
