Karina's journey into tennis began at the age of six, when her mother introduced her and her sister to their very first tennis lesson. What started as a childhood activity soon became a lifelong passion. At just 12 years old, she moved to Spain to train at the prestigious Emilio Sánchez Academy, while simultaneously pursuing her studies at an American high school. Surrounded by internationally renowned coaches and an elite training environment, Karina developed not only her technical abilities but also a deep appreciation for the discipline, resilience, and dedication the sport demands.

Her tennis career continued in the United States, where she competed for Christopher Newport University, representing one of the country's top-ranked NCAA Division III tennis programs in both singles and doubles competition. The experience of competing at collegiate level further strengthened her understanding of high-performance tennis and the transformative role of exceptional coaching.

"Having experienced world-class coaching from such a young age, I developed a profound appreciation for how transformative the right mentorship can be," said Karina. "Every lesson should have a purpose. I would like each guest or member to leave the court with stronger skills, greater confidence, a deeper appreciation for the game, and the excitement to return and continue learning."

Throughout her coaching career, Karina has found her greatest reward in helping young players achieve their potential. Before joining The Ritz-Carlton, Bahrain, she coached extensively in Romania, where many of her junior students went on to win local tournaments. Even after relocating abroad, parents continued to share updates on their children's achievements—a reflection of the lasting relationships and positive impact she built through her coaching.

Beyond tennis, Karina has also embraced the rapidly growing sport of padel and is a certified coach for beginner and intermediate players, further expanding the range of racquet sports available to guests and members.

Inspired by Spanish tennis legend Rafael Nadal, Karina credits his resilience and unwavering determination as a constant source of motivation.

"Rafael Nadal taught me that no matter how many challenges you face, if you have the desire, you find the will to keep moving forward. That philosophy has shaped not only my tennis career but also who I am as a person."
