Projects planned for 2016

Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) general secretary Abdulrahman Askar asserted the committee’s plan to conduct three projects in 2016 as part of its commitment to develop sports in Bahrain.

It will be launching a major development plan at the Sports Medicine Centre (SMC) with a gala ceremony to celebrate the ‘Sports Day’, in addition to the ‘Road to Podium’ in an attempt to cope with the rapid development of sports across the globe.

This plan is in line with the directives of His Majesty the King Representative for Charity Work and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa.

Askar said BOC seeks to invent a bundle of activities and programmes that would boost the sports movement in Bahrain. “While we are extremely satisfied with what the committee has achieved on the administrative and technical levels in cooperation national sports federations over the past few years, these achievements motive for us to promote the sports sector further in Bahrain,” said Askar.

The three projects to be set up are a complete plan to develop the SMC and will be implemented over different phases.
