Tommy Fleetwood Headlines Star-Studded 2026 Hero Dubai Desert Classic
Golf fans in Dubai have a reason to rejoice as FedExCup Champion and World Number Four Tommy Fleetwood confirms his participation in the 2026 Hero Dubai Desert Classic. The prestigious event will take place at Emirates Golf Club from 22–25 January, promising another thrilling chapter in the tournament’s history.
Fleetwood, a Dubai resident, will tee off alongside European Ryder Cup teammates – defending champion Tyrrell Hatton and reigning Masters Champion Rory McIlroy – as the first Rolex Series event of the 2026 Race to Dubai draws an elite international field.
The English star capped off a stellar 2025 season by winning the FedExCup at the dramatic Tour Championship on the PGA Tour. He also played a pivotal role in Europe’s historic Ryder Cup triumph at Bethpage Black under captain Luke Donald.
Next year marks Fleetwood’s 15th consecutive appearance on the Majlis Course, having competed in the Hero Dubai Desert Classic every season since turning professional. Fresh from his victory at last month’s inaugural DP World India Championship, Fleetwood is eager to celebrate once more in his adopted hometown.
"It’s been an incredible year, winning the FedExCup and being part of that special Ryder Cup victory for Europe," Fleetwood said. "I always enjoy starting my season in Dubai. The Hero Dubai Desert Classic has become a tournament that I love, and I’m looking forward to teeing it up close to home in front of friends and family again, hoping to lift that famous Dallah Trophy."
Simon Corkill, Executive Tournament Director of the Hero Dubai Desert Classic, added, "Tommy’s return is another exciting boost to what is shaping up to be an exceptional field for 2026. His achievements across the Atlantic, combined with his Ryder Cup heroics, make him one of golf’s most compelling competitors. As a Dubai resident, Tommy has a special connection with our fans, and we’re thrilled to welcome him back as he chases his first Dallah Trophy."
A Festival Beyond Golf
The Hero Dubai Desert Classic, already GEO-certified for the third consecutive year, continues to set the benchmark for sustainable golf events. In 2026, organisers will further enhance their commitment to health, wellness, and greener transport options. Convenient metro and taxi links make it easy for fans to reach Emirates Golf Club smoothly and sustainably.
Beyond the golf action, Tournament Town promises an unforgettable festival atmosphere, complete with live entertainment, family activities, food trucks, arts and crafts, and interactive experiences for all ages. Music, performances, wellness sessions, and kids’ activities make it a perfect day out for families and friends alike.
