BAB Signs MoU with Association of Banks in Singapore during the Singapore FinTech Festival

The Bahrain Association of Banks (BAB) has signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding with the Association of Banks in Singapore (ABS), marking a significant step towards expanding financial and technical collaboration between banking institutions in the Kingdom of Bahrain and their counterparts in Singapore. The agreement was officially signed on the sidelines of BAB’s participation in the Singapore FinTech Festival (SFF) 2025, reaffirming the Association’s commitment to engaging with leading global financial markets and embracing cutting-edge innovations in the sector.

The Memorandum of Understanding seeks to establish a structured and continuous framework for the effective exchange of information, expertise, and insights on areas of shared interest. It also aims to foster meaningful dialogue among member institutions through the joint organization of seminars, roundtable discussions, and specialized banking capacity-building programmes.

Mrs. Zeeba Askar, CEO of BAB, stated: “This collaboration with the Association of Banks in Singapore represents a major step towards enhancing knowledge exchange and technical expertise. At the Bahrain Association of Banks, we are committed to ensuring that this partnership directly benefits our member institutions and reinforcing the competitiveness of Bahrain’s financial sector, which aligns with our strategic vision to highlight the Kingdom’s position as a leading financial hub in the region.”

Mrs. Askar further highlighted that this agreement, signed on the sidelines of one of the world’s largest gatherings for FinTech, marks another milestone in the Association’s international cooperation journey and underscores its ongoing efforts to strengthen local, regional, and global partnerships.
