Three Bahraini players reach quarterfinals at Asian U16 Tennis Championships

Three Bahraini players advanced to the quarterfinals of the Asian Tennis Federation Under-16 Championship, following a competitive round of 16 hosted by the Bahrain Tennis Federation.
Top seed Ahmed Al Sayed led Bahrain’s charge with a dominant 6–1, 6–1 victory over Saudi Arabia’s Mohammed Al Yami, underlining his bid for the boys’ singles title. His brother, third seed Talal Al Sayed, faced a tougher test but overcame Saudi player Mohammed Al Nemer 7–6(5), 6–2 to book his place in the last eight. Hashim Al Tublai also advanced after his opponent withdrew.
In other results, Saudi player Abdulaziz Al Tamimi beat India’s Joseph Cho 6–1, 6–0 to set up a quarterfinal clash with Ahmed Al Sayed, while Ali Al Hamad edged compatriot Hamoud Ibrahim Al Omair in three sets. India’s Sunny Barth defeated Bahrain’s Adam Bukhwa 6–0, 4–6, 6–1 to meet Saudi Arabia’s Ahmed Suruji, who overcame Bahraini Redha Hassan 6–2, 6–4. Australia’s Rebelo Jayden also reached the quarterfinals after beating Bahrain’s Ali Al Khayyat 6–1, 7–6(5).
In the girls’ singles, Bahraini Sofia Bader progressed to the quarterfinals with a 6–0, 6–0 win over compatriot Fatima Milad, while Maryam Al Abbasi advanced to the semifinals after defeating Haneen Al Najjar 6–0, 6–4. Saudi Arabia’s Fatima Al Bajari also reached the semifinals with a 6–1, 6–0 win over Bahrain’s Nayak Sagarika.
In the boys’ doubles, Saudi pair Kazem Al Sairafi and Mohammed Al Nemer advanced to the quarterfinals after beating Michel Theeb of Syria and Ziad Hassan of Seychelles 6–4, 5–7, 10–5. Iraqi Fahad Saif and Australia’s Jayden Rebelo also progressed with a 6–1, 6–4 win over Bahrain’s Adam Bukhwa and Mohammed Alamuddin.
