Longtime Bahrain Resident Mahesh Bhatia Passes Away

Mahesh Bhatia, a longtime resident of Bahrain, passed away yesterday at his home in Mumbai at the age of 72.
Born in Bahrain, Bhatia completed his schooling in the kingdom before moving to India, where he earned a Bachelor of Commerce in Business Management from Bombay University. He later returned to Bahrain to begin his professional career, initially joining Gulf Air, before transitioning to the media sector and eventually serving with the Bahrain Exhibitions and Convention Authority.
Throughout his life, Bhatia was actively involved in social and community work. He held positions on the boards of the Lions Club of Bahrain, the Thattai Hindu Community, the Co-ordination Committee of Indian Associations, and the Indian School Bahrain, contributing significantly to Bahrain’s expatriate and philanthropic community.
He is survived by his wife Sunita, 69; brother Dilip; sisters Nalini and Mala; son Namit; daughter Poonam; daughter-in-law Varsha; son-in-law Anil Rao; and grandchildren Aarna, Hiya, Dhriti, and Saransh.
No funeral arrangements have been announced at this time.
