His Excellency Jameel Humaidan, Minister of Labour, has emphasised the necessity of harmonising educational outcomes with the demands of the labour market.

In pursuit of this alignment, the Ministry of Labour engages with the Higher Education Council, the Ministry of Education, the University of Bahrain, and Bahrain Polytechnic to ensure university education is attuned to market needs.

The Ministry also provides vocational opportunities, evaluates the demand for academic disciplines, and communicates bursary projections and pertinent data to the Ministry of Education.

Collaboratively, the Ministry accelerates the incorporation of fresh graduates into vocational education, devising strategies to equip them for the labour market with knowledge of artisanal and technical trades.

Moreover, the Ministry works with partners to establish professional levels and standards, including the assessment of skill levels and the issuance of professional licences to regulate occupational practice based on objective criteria.

The Ministry’s initiatives to employ citizens and generate job opportunities, in collaboration with government agencies, include managing the labour market through the economic recovery plan spanning 2021 to 2024, which aims to employ 20,000 individuals and 10,000 job seekers each year until 2024.

Vision 2030, predicated on justice, sustainability, and competitiveness, has successfully attracted significant investment, culminating in the creation of thousands of new jobs and the establishment of numerous projects by foreign companies.
