Authorities in Dubai confirmed that emergency teams are responding to a drone-related incident near Dubai International Airport (DXB), which led to a fire affecting one of the airport’s fuel tanks.
According to officials, teams from Dubai Civil Defence were immediately deployed to the scene and are working to bring the fire fully under control. Authorities confirmed that the situation remains contained and the blaze has not spread. No injuries have been reported so far.
As a precautionary measure, the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority announced the temporary suspension of flights at Dubai International Airport to ensure the safety of passengers and airport staff. Travellers have been advised to contact their respective airlines for the latest updates regarding their flights.
Meanwhile, Dubai Airports confirmed that several flights scheduled to land at DXB have been diverted to Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC) while emergency operations continue.
Civil Defence teams remain at the site and are continuing efforts to fully extinguish the fire and secure the affected area. Authorities said further updates will be provided as the situation develops.
