An Asian man is in hot water after he attempted to establish contact with a young girl on a flight bound for Bahrain from another Gulf country, it has emerged.
He apparently provided his phone number and a message expressing his desire to communicate with her.
However, upon landing, he was apprehended based on accusations made by the victim's mother.
Bahrain's Cassation Court issued a final verdict affirming the lower criminal court's ruling, sentencing the accused to one month in prison and permanent deportation from the country.
The defendant was also charged with committing an act that violated the girl's modesty in a public place on August 10, 2022, and engaging in moral corruption.
The victim and her mother were returning on a flight when the accused was observed stealing glances and awaiting an opportunity to strike up a conversation.
The girl informed her mother of the incident, who took legal measures, resulting in the paper note becoming evidence of the defendant's wrongdoing and leading to his imprisonment and deportation.
