Empowering Youth for Sustainable Growth

In a dialogue session held under the “Future Challenge” program, His Excellency Eng. Wael bin Nasser Al Mubarak, Minister of Municipalities and Agriculture Affairs, emphasized that empowering youth in municipal and agricultural work remains a strategic priority aligned with the vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the guidance of HRH Crown Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Deputy Supreme Commander and Prime Minister.
The minister highlighted that supporting young people’s participation helps shape the present and build the future, contributing to the goals of Bahrain Economic Vision 2030 and sustainable development objectives.
The session brought together a select group of young participants in the third edition of the “Future Challenge” program, organized by the Bahrain Institute for Political Development. Attendees included Dr. Ibtisam Al-Dallal, Board Member at the Institute; Ms. Iman Faisal Janahi, Executive Director; Eng. Asim Abdul Latif Abdullah, Undersecretary for Agriculture and Livestock Affairs; Eng. Isa Al Buainain, Acting Undersecretary for Municipal Affairs and Director-General of the Southern Region Municipality; and several officials from the ministry and the institute.
During the discussion, Minister Al Mubarak reviewed the ministry’s efforts in developing urban infrastructure and national initiatives to strengthen food security and promote sustainable agriculture. He stressed that youth are valued partners in municipal and agricultural work, and their involvement in shaping initiatives fosters innovation and sustainable solutions to urban and environmental challenges.
The minister also noted youth participation in various ministry programs, including community municipal partnerships, agricultural projects, food security initiatives, and the adoption of modern agricultural technologies. He underscored that the ministry’s strategic plans align with Bahrain Economic Vision 2030, ensuring ongoing development of municipal and agricultural sectors while meeting community aspirations.
Minister Al Mubarak praised the Bahrain Institute for Political Development’s role in preparing national programs for youth empowerment and commended the participants’ ambitious ideas, reflecting their national awareness and commitment to contributing to the country.
