Electricity and Water Authority (EWA) Chairman, Eng. Kamal bin Ahmed Mohammed, has announced the launch of the “Fixed Electricity and Water Billing System”, which allows subscribers who wish to optionally obtain greater flexibility through a fixed bill throughout the year, based on the actual average consumption of the last 12 months.

Eng. Kamal noted that the system comes within the package of development initiatives that the authority is working on in order to provide the best services and developed solutions to its subscribers, and to ensure the provision of sustainable services at the highest level of quality, pointing to its contribution to regulating the payment and consumption process.

The new billing system is an optional service that allows all subscribers to allocate a fixed bill per month throughout the year, based on the actual average consumption of the last 12 months.

This will prevent the subscriber from paying high bills during the summer period due to the increased electricity consumption resulting from high temperatures, in addition to a tab for the subscriber’s expenses and adjusting his monthly income.

By subscribing to the new EWA “Fixed Electricity and Water Billing System” system, the subscriber will ensure that there is no power outage throughout the year, knowing that the monthly bill will include all data from the fixed payment amount that was determined based on the actual consumption rate for the last 12 months, and the bill value with the actual consumption of the month.

The payment process is made by direct bank deduction, and the differences at the end of the year will be reviewed and calculated. After 12 months of paying the fixed bill, the differences will be calculated.

If the amount of payments is more than the billed amount, the remaining amount will be saved in the subscriber’s balance and can be used in future bills.

However, if the amount of payments is less than the billed amount, the amount will be carried over to the next year. It is paid in installments for one year.

The subscription period in the system is 12 months, starting from the date of subscription and automatically renewed unless the subscriber requests its cancellation.

Those wishing to subscribe to the Fixed Electricity and Water Billing System should visit the national portal www.bahrain. bh, the website of the Electricity and Water Authority www. ewa.bh or by contacting the authority’s call center 17515555, which is available around the clock.
