Colour symphony, beauty of nature confluence in art
As an artist, Irina Averinos draws inspiration from the beautiful scenery around her. Born in the Russian city of Tuapse on the Black Sea coast, Irina, a Master’s degree holder in computer engineering, currently resides in Bahrain.
Irina’s paintings have a great colour symphony and beauty of nature, which is reflected in her work. Her paintings are warm and sunny and they carry a positive energy, which we can feel.
Her works mainly include oils due to their wide variety of texture and ability to blend in. She chooses a style, which aptly expresses reality.
“I prefer to spend morning hours for painting. During daytime, I can see the right colour of oil pigments and this is very important for the end result. I like to paint varied subjects, portrait to abstract, but my favourites are landscape, seascape and flowers,” she explains.
Irina believes that every child can draw. During her childhood, she wanted to draw and paint at skill level and mastery as the great artists had done in the past.
According to Irina, painting is an amazing art and is a type of art that needs formal academic studies and many hours of dedicated practice. “Modern decorative and spontaneous art do not need deep studies,” she says. But she believes that to be an artist today, in the fullest sense, academic basics in colour theory, composition, perspective etc. are very important for every artists.
Every artist has their own style of brushstroke, the same as having their own handwriting, and all artists have their own preferable colour palette.
Irina has her own naturalistic and representational style with bright vibrant palette. She paints to find and express the beauty and peace that she comes across every day.
“I like many artworks by old masters, painters and modern artists. Apart from hard work, I tried different methods, tools and subject matter to master new skills. I wish to be myself and unique. It is a personal aspect that becomes a part of my journey,” she elaborates. “It requires skill, growth and determination to develop my own voice and share my passion.”
According to her, art is a visual treat for the eyes and needs to be beheld. Irina strongly pursues artwork as a form of visual healing. “I would like to create art that creates happiness, peace and healing for others. I do not mind to see any differences in my art, but wish to keep quality and positivity in me even after years too,” she adds.
Irina has successfully participated in various art exhibitions and art events in Bahrain and abroad. Irina’s motivation is the joy that she experiences when creating an artwork.
She does art because she likes using her gift and energy to create positive thing. Irina is also a member of Bahrain Art Society and American Women’s Association.
