Empowering Future Legislators
An interactive session introduced youth participants to Bahrain’s democratic process and the role of the Shura Council
Shura Council member Hala Ramzi Fayez stressed the importance of enhancing legislative and political awareness among young people, describing it as a key pillar in preparing an informed generation that understands its national role and contributes positively to Bahrain’s development journey.
She made the remarks during her participation in an interactive dialogue session titled “Meeting with a Shura Council Member” as part of the first edition of the “Junior Parliament” programme held at City of Youth 2030.
The programme is organised by the Youth Pioneers Society in strategic partnership with the General Secretariat of the Shura Council, in cooperation with the Ministry of Youth Affairs.
During the session, she provided participants with an overview of the Shura Council’s responsibilities, including drafting legislation, approving laws and exercising oversight. She also explained the work of the council’s permanent committees and the process of reviewing proposed laws, legislative initiatives and government decrees.
She praised the quality of training programmes and specialised youth centres offered through City of Youth 2030, noting that the innovative projects and achievements presented by participants demonstrate the growing creativity and capabilities of Bahraini youth.
