New Gaza Deal Marks Step Toward Lasting Peace

Foreign Ministry says agreement marks a positive step towards ending suffering and achieving lasting regional peace

The Kingdom of Bahrain welcomed the announcement by US President Donald Trump of a historic disarmament agreement in the Gaza Strip, describing it as a positive and constructive step toward implementing a comprehensive peace plan.

In a statement, Bahrain’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the agreement could contribute to ending the suffering of the Palestinian people while strengthening security, stability and lasting peace in the region.

The Ministry expressed Bahrain’s appreciation for the diplomatic efforts led by the United States under President Trump, with support from Egypt, Qatar, Türkiye, the Board of Peace, and other regional and international partners.

It said the achievement highlights the importance of collective action and multilateral diplomacy in advancing regional and global peace and security.

Bahrain reaffirmed its full support for implementing the comprehensive peace plan in line with United Nations Security Council Resolution 2803.

The Kingdom stressed the importance of ensuring the continued delivery of humanitarian assistance, supporting Gaza’s recovery and reconstruction efforts, and facilitating the return of the Palestinian Authority to the Gaza Strip.

The Ministry also reiterated Bahrain’s support for the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, including their right to self-determination and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state along the borders of 4 June 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with international legitimacy resolutions and the two-state solution.
