Al Sawari Theatre Wins Five Awards in Jordan
Bahrain’s Al Sawari Theatre achieved a major cultural milestone after winning five awards at the closing ceremony of the Jerash Monodrama Festival in Jordan, reaffirming Bahraini theatre's ability to compete at Arab and international levels.
Members of Al Sawari Theatre said the achievement reflects the advanced position of Bahraini theatre and highlights the creative talents and artistic capabilities within the Kingdom’s theatre scene.
The artists described the achievement as a new milestone in Bahrain’s theatrical journey, especially since it was achieved amid strong competition from productions representing various Arab countries.
The Bahraini theatre group secured five awards during the festival’s closing ceremony.
The play “The One Invited by Chance" won four awards: Best Integrated Performance, the Jury Special Award presented to actor Kamel Al Busaidi, the Best Director Award received by Ibrahim Al Mansi, and the Best Scenography Award awarded to artist Abdullah Al Bakri.
Meanwhile, Bahraini playwright Yousif Al Hamdan won the Best Theatre Script Award for his play “Mr Khashaba.”
