Bahrain supports Incheon  Declaration at UNESCO
Education Minister Majid Al Nuaimi led the Bahrain delegation at the 38th session of UNESCO General Conference in Paris, which discussed the declaration of Incheon on the future of education in the world and Vision 2030 of the UNESCO in promoting education.
Speaking at the conference, the Minister said that Bahrain welcomed the announcement, which would be a main reference to the member States for the coming 15 years. He also stressed on Bahrain’s commitment to provide education for all, citing the Jomtien framework of 1990 and the Dakar Declaration of 2000.
The Incheon declaration promotes inclusive education with focus on information technology, communication, life skills, science and innovation. It also proposes to protect from acts of sabotage and terrorism in the educational institutions, where the future generations are being groomed.
The Minister lauded the UNESCO’s ability to enhance cooperation between the GCC and private sector and emphasised the importance of partnership in further development.
The discussions on Vision 2030 highlighted the UNESCO’s efforts in shaping the future of children worldwide.
