HRH Prince Salman honours COVID-19 frontline medical professionals and supporting entities

His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, yesterday honoured COVID-19 frontline medical professionals and supporting entities.

They were awarded “The Prince Salman bin Hamad Medal for Medical Merit” at a ceremony held under HRH Prince Salman’s patronage, at Gudaibiya Palace. HRH Prince Salman also presented medals to a number of ministers and senior officials in recognition of their work throughout the global pandemic.

Receiving the medals were Education Minister Dr Majid bin Ali Al Nuaimi, Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Ali bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Shura Council and Council of Representatives Affairs Minister Ghanim Fadhel Al Buainain, Information Affairs Minister Ali bin Mohammed Al Rumaihi, Defence Affairs Minister Lieutenant-General Abdullah bin Hassan Al Noaimi, Youth and Sports Affairs Minister Aymen Tawfiq Almoayyed and the Chief of Public Security, Major General Tariq bin Hassan Isa Al Hassan.

During the ceremony, His Royal Highness conveyed the greetings and appreciation of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to the medical frontliners for their relentless efforts to mitigate the coronavirus over the past two years.

HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister said that the Royal Order to grant the “Prince Salman bin Hamad Medal for Medical Merit” reflects HM the King’s continued support for the Kingdom’s frontline medical professionals, and supporting entities from the Bahrain Defence Force (BDF), Ministry of Interior and various other agencies.

HRH the Deputy King expressed his gratitude and appreciation for Team Bahrain’s exceptional achievements and contributions to safeguarding the health of the Kingdom’s citizens and residents throughout the ongoing pandemic.

He stressed the importance of continuing united efforts to further the Kingdom’s development, and achieve the overall goal of beating the COVID-19. On behalf of the honourees, the Head of Public Health Laboratories at the Ministry of Health, Amjaad Ghanem Zayed, delivered a speech, in which she expressed their collective gratitude and appreciation for HM the King and HRH Prince Salman’s continued support.

Zayed further expressed the honourees’ pledge to further strengthen mitigation efforts, and safeguard the Kingdom from the COVID-19.
