The Information and eGovernment Authority is looking forward to further enhancing the capabilities of the national portal (Bahrain. bh) by adding more services. The current announcement follows the launch of the beta version of the portal in July this year.

At that time, iGA had said that the beta version was part of Phase One, and the gradual revamp would continue until early 2022.

Social media, polls, blog

The new tender document says the authority is “looking to provide better eParticipation platform over the national portal by incorporating live streaming of social media in an effective way within (Bahrain. bh).”

iGA also wants to make the platform livelier by adding “polls and surveys platform” and “a subscribe application to handle the full process of website subscription mechanism.” Besides, the authority intends to add a blog platform and allow all government entities to manage the blog topics.

All these will work towards creating “an effective eParticipation platform under Bahrain’s National portal ( Bahrain.bh),” the authority said. The tender launched by iGA also calls for completing the works in a year time.

UN standards

During the July launch, iGA Chief Executive, Mohammed Ali Al Qaed, had said the portal’s design, services, and features will be gradually developed over several phases until early next year and closely follows United Nations eGovernment standards.

iGA, at that time, also said that the second phase would include an improvement in the unified eService payment platform, the ability to customize the experience by creating a list of favourite eServices, and gradual migration of eServices to the revamped system.

So, if interested, make bids before the 17th of November 2021, with a BD500 bond and BD15 tender fees. Micro, small and medium enterprises are eligible for a 10% preference in the financial evaluation stage when submitting the “SMEs Classification Certificate” during bidding for this tender.
