Bahrain calls for reconciliation process in Afghanistan

Bahrain has called on all parties to work together to achieve political and reconciliation process in Afghanistan. Bahrain’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Dr Yousef Abdulkarim Bucheery, representing the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council, participated yesterday in the United Nations Human Rights Council special session to discuss the situation of human rights in the war-torn country.
Dr Bucheery delivered a statement on behalf of the GCC, in which he expressed the group’s concern over the escalating violence in Afghanistan.
