Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa yesterday renewed her pledge to boost efforts to build on what has been achieved by the Supreme Council for Women on the occasion of its 20th anniversary.

SCW, the wife of His Majesty the King and the President of the Supreme Council for Women, said, will move forward with confidence and optimism to continue its journey of giving and building under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. HRH Prince Sabeeka said this in a congratulatory message to HM the King, marking the anniversary of the establishment of SCE.

HM King ordered the establishment of the Supreme Council of Women on the 22nd of August 2001. The move also coincided with the launch of the National Action Charter of Bahrain, which contributed substantially to the Kingdom’s woman empowerment drive.

HRH Princess Sabeeka also thanked all those who had contributed to the establishment of the organisation and the Royal support the council received in each step, which enabled it to assume its national responsibilities.

HM the King in a message thanking HRH Prince Sabeeka reiterated his appreciation and pride in the efforts of the SCW and all its members in enhancing the role of Bahraini women and wished them further success.
