HRH Prince Salman discuss bilateral ties with visiting South Korean National Assembly Speaker

His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s vision to promote peace and co-existence in the region was hailed by South Korea’s National Assembly Speaker Park Byeong-seug.
This came as His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Prime Minister and Crown Prince, received yesterday the Speaker at Riffa Palace.
“The Bahraini leadership has stressed ambitions to establish peace and coexistence in the region. And HM the King pays great attention to achieving peace in the region and prosperity in Bahrain,” said Park, the first Korean Speaker to visit the Kingdom.
He noted that “HM the King is very interested in developing the living standards of the Bahraini people and Bahrain has paid great attention to combating the COVID-19 pandemic through the preventive measures it has taken.”
Park said that thanks to the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad and the constant care of His Royal Highness Prince Salman, Bahrain has been making great progress in various fields.
“After 45 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between Bahrain and South Korea, it is a great honour to visit the country especially as it coincides with the 20th anniversary of the National Action Charter (NAC), which is an important milestone in the development of Bahraini democracy,” said the Speaker.
During his visit to the Kingdom, Park met HM the King, HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, the Speaker of the Council of Representative and the Chairman of the Shura Council.
The meeting with HM the King stressed the importance of cooperation between Bahrain and Asia in general and South Korea in particular, he said, adding there is ongoing cooperation in the field of construction and infrastructure.
Steady growth of relations
During his meeting with HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, they highlighted the steady growth of relations between Bahrain and South Korea.
His Royal Highness noted the importance of mutual visits towards bolstering strategic partnerships and providing quality opportunities.
He also emphasised the benefits of international parliamentary and legislative co-operation.
His Royal Highness stressed the Kingdom’s commitment to furthering joint co-operation with various countries across Asia, noting South Korea’s prominent economic role and industrial expertise, which has contributed to promoting sustainable development across the region and the globe.
