Israel issue gold, silver coins to mark friendship with Bahrain

Israel has issued two limited edition coins to celebrate its recent peace deal with Bahrain. Israel Coins and Medals Corp. is capturing the historic signing of the Peace Agreement between Israel and Bahrain on a State Medal, struck in fine gold and fine silver in tiny mintages. The coins are designed by Ruben Nutels and are minted by The Holy Land Mint. On the face of the coin, to the right, are landmark Bahrain buildings like the World Trade Centre, Bahrain International Circuit, Bahrain Financial Harbour, Four Seasons Hotel Bahrain Bay, etc. To the left, is a stylized picture of the Walls of Jerusalem and Tower of David. The coin features a dove of peace with an olive branch in its beak. On the coin are also inscribed the words "Israel – Bahrain – Peace Agreement" in both the English and Hebrew languages.

On the reverse side of the coin are the Bahraini and Israeli flags with inscriptions "1oz. Fine Gold .9999" on the gold” and "1oz. Fine Silver .999" again in both languages. The coins, issued in the year 2020, has a fineness is 999.9 and one ounce in weight each.

The gold coin has a diameter of 32mm and max mintage 199. Meanwhile the pure silver coin is of 38.7mm diameter and max mintage of 999.

The gold coin is sold at $3,459 (BD 1304) while the silver one costs $125 (BD47).

The new agreement between the two countries is expected to bring endless new trade opportunities for the two countries, increasing its import-export volume, strengthening tourism and mutual economic growth. The ground-breaking agreement will result in economic, technological and state cooperation, creating a "new Middle East", said officials.
