Bahrain's University of Applied Sciences obtains ISO certificate second year in a row

The University of Applied Sciences has obtained an ISO certificate for the management systems of educational institutions for the second consecutive year.

It is the first university in the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Arabian Gulf to obtain this international certificate.

The university’s Board of Trustees chairman Prof Dr Waheeb Al Khaja congratulated all the university’s affiliates on the occasion of obtaining the prestigious international ISO certificate (ISO 21001: 2018) after the certification body completes the audit procedures by default to ensure that the university fulfills all the requirements.

Prof Al Khaja affirmed that this achievement enhances the academic and educational march of the university and contributes to achieving the visions and aspirations for the advancement of the university and the services it provides to its students.

He pointed out that obtaining this certificate confirms the university’s commitment to the quality policy in all the services it provides. Academic and administrative staff provides the best education for students.

The external auditor appreciated the university’s keenness to apply the highest quality standards, especially with regard to the e-learning systems adopted by the university to ensure the continuation of the educational process for students in the best conditions.

The external auditor praised the health and safety measures taken by the university to deal with the coronavirus (COVID-19). At the end of his report, the external auditor concluded that the university administration system is efficient and achieves its main goal of continuous improvement of the university’s operations and procedures.

For his part, the president of the university, Prof Dr Ghassan Awad, congratulated the chair- man of the Board of Directors, Samir Nass, Prof Al Khaja and members of the two councils, for this achievement.

Prof Awad noted that the support provided by the university administration and its relentless follow-up is one of the most important reasons for the university’s excellence and obtaining the ISO certificate.

The university president explained that obtaining this certificate for two consecutive years comes as a continuation of the university’s approach to placing quality and excellence at its highest priority

It also confirms the university’s success in continuing its leadership and achievements by ensuring the development of its academic and administrative staff and attracting expertise and competencies.
Prof Awad extended thanks to those in charge of this achievement, in particular Professor Hatem Head of the Audit and Compliance Unit.

The university head stated that the aim of this certificate is to make academic processes run in an orderly, more efficient and effective manner.

Prof Awad noted that the university has demonstrated its ability to excel and deal with various circumstances, which represents a new achievement.

The most important of which, Prof Award added, is the success in passing the institutional review by the quality of education and training, and its obtaining institutional accreditation from the Higher Education Council, in addition to its entry for the first time in the QS World University Rankings (651-700) among the best universities in the world, which confirms its outstanding level as the best private university in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
