Cooking contest held

The Cooking contest ‘Diet Idol’ was held for the first time in Bahrain under the patronage of Health Ministry’s Undersecretary Dr. Aysha Buaneq, in cooperation with member of the Second Constituency in the Northern Governorate, Fatima Al Qatari.

According to Budaiya Health Centre’s President of Board of Health, Dr. Muna Al Mehri 12 people participated in the contest which was divided up into four teams. There was also a group of four professional judges, which included Dr. Abeer Al Ghawi, Mustafa Haiki, Adel Rajab, and Mohammed Marhoon.

Dr. Abeer Al Ghawi, who serves as Health Improvement Administration Consultant nutritionist, said that the competition achieved great success in attracting youth interested in healthy cooking. “The results of the competition show that the people seek the concept of making healthy and delicious dishes, which can be easily prepared by simple ingredients at home.”

The winning team of first day included Ebtisam Al Dhiayan, Eman Isa and Khalifa Ebrahim while the second day featured Salman Faisal, Ayat Yousif, Salah Abu Idrees.
