Twins drown in swimming pool
Three-year-old Bahraini twins tragically drowned in a swimming pool located in a farm in Eker yesterday.
The victims have been identified as Eker residents, Ali and Salman Hassan Mohammed.
A source close to the family said that the farm is situated between two houses owned by their family.
The boys were last spotted at around 6pm.
At around 5pm the boys went to a nearby cold store to buy snacks along with their grandfather. Later they went towards the swimming pool.
“At about 5pm, their grandfather took them to the cold store to buy chocolate bars and chips. They returned back again. But after a while they disappeared and their cousin saw them in the swimming pool, with their bodies afloat," the source said.
"He immediately screamed and someone was close to the scene heard him and rushed to rescue them. But at that time they were already dead," he added.
The Interior Ministry confirmed the boys' death on its Twitter account. It wrote, "Two children aged 3 drowned in a swimming pool in East Eker area."
