Deputy Premier reviews infrastructure projects worth nearly BD2billion

Projects worth nearly BD- 2billion was reviewed yesterday in the 55th meeting of the ministerial committee for development projects and infrastructure, chaired by Deputy Premier Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa.

Shaikh Khalid lauded the boom in Bahrain’s infrastructure projects over the past 10 years and underlined the government’s massive investments in these projects countrywide. Five projects worth BD- 650million in the electricity and water sectors were discussed.

Some projects are expected to be complete this year while work on others will run until 2022. The session was also updated about projects worth BD850 million, being carried out by the Electricity and Water Authority (EWA) in Hawar Island, in addition to other schemes.

The committee also followed up on the progress of projects along major streets and internal roads, which cost up to BD420 million.
