Bahraini’s sentence upheld

The High Criminal Appeals Court upheld the sentence issued against an embezzler yesterday. The Bahraini national defendant reportedly pocketed around BD28,000 from a country fellow, who was seeking to invest the money for bringing in cars from the US as well as buying iron and cement to build a farm.
The victim alleged that he handed over five cheques and BD4000 cash to the defendant to provide the aforementioned. But the defendant vanished with the money. Later, it was found that the defendant had already been prosecuted for similar charges.
