Fire breaks out at Tokyo primary school, all evacuated safely

Tokyo: On Friday, a fire broke out at a primary school in Tokyo, prompting the evacuation of over 300 students and staff. According to Japanese media reports, the fire started in the music room on the fourth floor of Takinogawa Daisan Elementary School in the city's Kita Ward.

All students and teachers were successfully evacuated, but many children suffered mild smoke inhalation. Firefighters rescued one teacher and a few students who remained inside, and officials stated that their injuries were not serious.

Television video showed dense black smoke pouring from the top stories as a number of fire trucks rushed to the scene. Firefighters successfully extinguished the fire.

Authorities are looking into the cause of the fire.
