Bahrain favourite destination in GCC

Manama

Bahrain topped the GCC states in the ranking of the expats’ favourite destination and came fourth worldwide in the same category for the year 2015, a recent study showed.

According to the results of a survey conducted by HSBC Bank, Bahrain was also first among Arabian countries in turns of best life pattern and best family environment.

The eighth edition of the survey included 21, 950 expats and was announced on Wednesday. It highlighted three factors which are best life pattern, best family environment and best economic environment.

In international ranking, the Kingdom followed Singapore, New Zealand and Sweden, who won the first three spots on the ranking, respectively.

“Bahrain ranked as the Gulf’s most popular destination for expats, who think it’s a better place to bring up children – and more fun – than anywhere else in the region. Expats believe that it is the fourth-best place to relocate in the world, after Singapore, New Zealand and Sweden,” a recent statement said.

It was also shown in the survey that expats in Bahrain and fellow GCC countries earn more than anywhere else, even as the low oil price threatens to slow growth.

Without revealing names, the survey pronounced several statements of expats explaining why they chose Bahrain as their favourite destination.

Comments included, “Challenging hard work, but rewarding both in terms of financial benefits and in experiences we have had.” “Bahrain is an island of smiles.”

“Bahrain amongst the GCC, is the best place for an expat to live. A home away from home.”

“Enjoy the friendliness and hospitality of the Bahraini people.”

“I believe Bahrain to be the most progressive, liberal and family-oriented country in the Gulf region.”
