Shaikh Khalid crowns winners of HH Cup

HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and President of Bahrain Olympic Committee and his children HH Shaikh Faisal and HH Shaikh Abdullah crowned the winners of Khalid bin Hamad, Faisal bin Khalid and Abdullah bin Khalid Cups, organised by Rashid Equestrian and Horse Racing Club in Sakhir.

Suhail, the horse owned by HH Shaikh Hamad bin Abdullah Al Khalifa won the first round which covered a distance of 1000 meters. Meanwhile, Antar, owned by Haitham Salah won the second round and Kuhailan Asif 1708, owned by Victorious Stud secured first place in the third round. Besides, Dark Powerd, owned by Al Adiyat Racing Stud, was victorious in the fourth round, while Retourt, owned by Victorious Stud raced to victory in the fifth round. Pressure Point and Port Lioneer were the winners of the sixth and seventh rounds respectively.

The event was held in the presence of National Guard Commander Lieutenant-General HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa, HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, National Security Advisor and Chairman of the Supreme Council of Youth affirmed, HH Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, President Deputy of the High Committee of Rashid Equestrian and Horse Racing Club, HH Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid Al Khalifa, Vice President of Supreme Council for Environment.

It was also attended by HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Khalifa, HH Shaikh Hamad bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, HH Shaikh Sultan Al-Deen bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, HH Shaikh Khalid bin Ali Al Khalifa, HH Shaikh Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, President of Bahrain Combat Sports Council, HH Shaikh Isa bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, President of BREEF, HH Shaikh Nader bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa and HE Mr Ali bin Mohammed Al Rumaihi, Minister of Information.

On this occasion, HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa said: “The equestrian sport is a historic one as it represents our authentic heritage which we inherited from our grandparents. We are keen to seed its importance among our children to preserve it in line with the instructions of HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the King of the Kingdom of Bahrain.” “Khalid bin Hamad Regional Paralympic Equestrian Race which is being held annually is part of our initiatives to support disabled people in all fields, especially in sports in line with our great belief in the importance of integrating them in various sports.”
