Fiscal balance initiatives backed
Shura Council President Ali Saleh Al Saleh has reiterated his support to initiatives aimed at maintaining fiscal balance and slashing expenditure. Chairing the Shura Council Bureau meeting this morning, he stressed the importance of the early voluntary retirement scheme and the rationalisation of state budget recurrent expenditure to reduce deficit and strike the balance between costs and expenditure.
Addressing the meeting which was attended by heads of standing committees and the Shura Council secretary-general, he stressed the importance for all government authorities and independent entities to contribute to the goal. He extended thanks to all the personnel working with the Shura Council General-Secretariat who opted to retire early, commending their dedicated efforts in performing their duties.
