Global Institute students shine in NIOS 12th grade exams

Global Institute of Management Science, the one and only approved study center of the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS), has secured a 92 percent pass rate in the 12th-grade exam results published yesterday. NIOS is the world’s largest open schooling system under the Ministry of Human Resources, Government of India.

It provides the opportunity for adults and school drop-outs to complete CBSE 10th and 12th-grade equivalent qualifications to pursue higher studies. Global Institute provides special preparatory classes for students enrolling for the courses in Commerce, Humanities and Science streams.

The examinations are conducted under the direct supervision of the Indian Embassy.  Commenting on the achievement, institute principal Latha Unnikrishnan said: “We have an alumni of 1,000 plus, who successfully made a come back to the formal education and achieved even professional graduations.

“Contrary to many schools, which only admit bright students and easily get better results, NIOS provides an opportunity for slow learners and less privileged students who had missed the regular schooling to come back to the mainstream education.
