Maritime security agreement signed

Minister of Interior Lt General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa yesterday signed an agreement with the British SRT Marine Technology represented by CEO Simon Tucker to operate an automatic identification system of vessels registered with the Coast Guard Command.
The agreement is part of the Coast Guard’s border security project to maintain safety and security of Bahrain's territorial waters and coastlines to protect them from infiltration and smuggling operations.
The minister highlighted determination to develop and modernize the Coast Guard systems, as well as the rest of security agencies, by providing them with the latest technologies to uplift capabilities to maintain maritime security as part of the security and stability of the homeland.
