Bahrain’s National Rafting team victory hailed

Manama : Supreme Council for Youth and Sports assistant general secretary and Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) general secretary Abdulrahman Askar gave a thumb up for the impressive results of Bahrain’s national rafting team at the recently-concluded Indoor Rafting Championship in Kuwait, winning one gold and one bronze medals.

Leading high-ranking sports officials at the reception of the team on return, Askar conveyed the greetings and best wishes of HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Supreme Council for Youth and Sports Chairman, and BOC President.

Askar said the committee will spare no efforts to provide all means of support to the rafting committee, which is under the umbrella of the Bahrain Maritime Sports Association.

BOC board member Shaikha Hayat bint Abdulaziz Al Khalifa was also present to congratulate the team, which also includes Mohammed Qamber, who took the under- 23 gold medal, in addition to Emad Abdulla, Ahmed Sabt and Ebrahim Isa, winner of the bronze medal.

Bahrain Maritime Sports Association president Shaikh Khalifa bin Abdulla Al Khalifa was also present at the reception ceremony, held at the association premises, on the sidelines of the annual Al Bareh International Regatta.
