Finals, Preliminary rounds set for tennis
Manama : The 10-and-under finals as well as the preliminary rounds of the 12-and-under category took place in the BTA Junior Tennis Tournament, organised by Bahrain Tennis Academy (BTA), at the Dilmun Club, Saar.
In the 10-and-under category, four players returned for the final rounds: Ahmed Riyaan, Vyom Gupta, Joseph Bromyard and Hashim Al Toobli. In the semi-finals, Ahmed overcame Joseph 12-10, while Vyom defeated Hashim 12-6.
In the play-off for third place, Joseph defeated Hashim 12-10. Then, in the final match, Ahmed claimed the title with a 7-2, 8-6 victory over Vyom.
In the 12-and-under-category, players took part in a round-robin format competition in two groups. At the conclusion of the group stage, four players had earned themselves a place in next weekend’s semi-finals: Raj Singh, Rohan Mukherjee, Isa Al Qattan and Mikhail Iqbal.
