Forum held on challenges in entering foreign markets

ManamaUnder the patronage of Zayed bin Rashid Alzayani, the Minister of Industry, Commerce and Tourism, the 5th Alwane Regional Forum was held yesterday in cooperation with the Bahrain SME Development to discuss opportunities and challenges in entering foreign markets. The event that was held under the banner of “Entering foreign markets, opportunities and challenges of exporting Bahraini products and services to international markets” aimed at equipping local entrepreneurs to export their gooods and services to the foreign market and help them grow. 

A number of experts, entrepreneurs and businessmen discussed the issue of exporting Bahraini products and services to international markets at the Sheraton Hotel.

This Fifth Forum emphasised on the government programmes that aim at diversifying the national economy and developing exports, and the efforts of the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism in cooperation with the Economic Development Board, Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry and other stakeholders.

Dr Atef Al-Shabrawi addressed the audience on the globalization of small businesses following from Kuwait. Basma Al-Sultan spoke on the Gulf experiences in granting franchises. From the Sultanate of Oman, Amna Al-Awadi spoke on promoting exports through foreign exhibitions.
