Top leaders to speak at GOPIO 2018

Manama : Global Organisation of People of Indian Origin (GOPIO) is all set to host the GOPIO International Convention 2018 and Pravasi Samelan that will be held for the first time in the Middle East on January 6th, 2018 at the Gulf Hotel. 

The three-day convention will be inaugurated by Ambassador of India, Alok Kumar Sinha, Minister of Electricity and Water Dr Abdulhussein Mirza and Maharashtra Cabinet Minister Raj Purohit on the first day of the event.

King Goodwill Zwelithini kaBhekuzulu from South Africa, who will also attend along with 25 delegates, will be addressing the audience followed by GOPIO Founding Chairman Dr Thomas Abraham, Dr BR Shetty, Chairman, NMC Healthcare and Lord Diljit Rana, Former President, GOPIO.

The event will also feature Indian Women Achiever’s Samman award ceremony and a theatrical Programme ‘Ashiyana: My Paradise’ by Swayam Productions. 

Soman Baby, Chairman, Reception Committee told DT News, Members of GOPIO and leaders of several countries will be among the delegates arriving in Manama for the three-day conference, which has the support of the governments of India and Bahrain.”

“Top leaders like Rahul Gandhi, President of Indian National Congress, Sashi Tharoor, former External Affairs Minister and top leaders of BJP - the ruling party of India will address delegates coming from nearly 40 countries,” he said. 

Sunny Kulathakal, Global Ambassador of GOPIO told
DT News, “ The Bahrain convention will be a one of a kind of strategic networking platform for Indian businessmen globally. The event will include a series of discussions on topics such as ‘India 2030: An Economic Powerhouse’, opportunities for Business and Investment in India’, ‘India: The Healthcare Destination’ – ‘India Healthcare Challenges & Opportunities’, ‘Innovation, Entrepreneurship & Start-Up India’, Empowering Women Globally’, Rehabilitation of Returning NRIs’ and many more.”

“The convention will also host a wide range of speakers addressing the audience including book launches, cultural programme and award ceremonies.” 

Varghese Kurian, Organiser of the event, told DT News, “This is one of a kind event which will further strengthen the relations between the two nations. Further, I would also thank the Indian Embassy of Bahrain to India for their constant support in ensuring this conference is a
success.”

The details of the event were revealed at a press conference that was held at the Park Regis Lotus Hotel that was addressed by Soman Baby, Chairman, Reception Committee, Varghese Kurian, Organiser of the event and Sunny Kulathakal, Global Ambassador of GOPIO.
