Works Ministry develops road in Riffa

Assistant Undersecretary for Roads at the Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning Ministry Huda Fakhro said the ministry has completed 38 per cent of the development of Al Azel road project in Riffa (Block 926).
Fakhro said the development starts from the intersection in Avenue 38 to 1.5 kilometers towards the east in its intersection with the road in 2613.
She said the total cost of the project was BD398,000 dinars.
She stressed approvals were taken from all road ground services to avoid conflict with the development plan, which includes removing the asphalt layer at the bottom floor and replacing it with new layer of specifications.
It also includes creation of sidewalks for pedestrians and parking spaces.
She explained due to the fact that the street is in a rocky and bumpy area, a network to collect rain in underground storage tankers was established.
She added that Al Azel road was implemented with lighting and road surface markers to increase traffic safety for the movement of vehicles.
