Bahrain to get two new bus routes

Bahrain Public Transport company announced two changes in bus routes, effective from today.
Bus X2 will run direct to Asry from Manama Bus Terminal. The altered X2 route runs as follows: Budaiya-Seef-City Centre Mall-Manama-Al Fateh Highway-Prince Khalifa bin Salman Causeway-Asry.
A new bus service (bus route 41) will link Juffair to Manama, Seef and City Centre Malls as well as LMRA, Dana and Bahrain Malls. The new route 41 goes as follows: Juffair North-Gulf Hotel-Exhibition Avenue-Manama-Sanabis Avenue 2 –Ritz Carlton Hotel-Seef-City Center Mall.
X2 will ply every 24 minutes while route 41 will run every 30 minutes. The new public transport system is based on a zonal structure, similar to what is followed in major cities across the globe.
It will result in a tremendous increase in reach, connectivity and usage, significantly improving the passenger journey experience, the company said. A new 14-zone fare system is expected to make travel simpler by facilitating the use of multiple bus services at competitive rates and superior service standards.
Information about the zones and the new routes is available on bahrainbus.bh, where passengers can get all the information on bus schedules to plan their journey.The new bus service will be rolled out in phases and will be fully implemented by August 1.
As many as 10 routes will be added to the current network, taking the total number of routes to 32. It would cover 77 per cent of the residential areas across the Kingdom. The fully implemented network will have capacity to serve about 50,000 passengers per day.
