Kingfish ban begins in Bahrain
Manama : A two-month fishing ban on kingfish will be enforced starting today along the coast of Bahrain. During the period, which continues until October 15, all activities including catching or selling of kingfish are banned.
The decision was announced on Sunday by the Agriculture and Marine Resources Affairs in Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning Ministry. “Anyone who contravenes the provisions of this Decree shall be punished by the penalties stipulated in Decree Law No. (20) of 2002 concerning the organising, exploitation and protection of marine resources,” the statement said.
