CPISP scholarship training programme launched

Manama : The Crown Prince’s International Scholarship Program (CPISP) has launched its candidate training for next year’s 2018 scholarships. The candidates, who are part of the final selection process for the ten CPISP scholarships, will take part in a number of specialised courses and activities. 

An induction session was held in cooperation with the Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance (BIBF) at its headquarters to brief the students on the courses that will take place during the summer and the first semester of the academic school year.  The candidates include 80 Bahraini students from government and private schools.  CPISP Director Dr Cynthia Gessling welcomed the students and congratulated them on reaching the candidacy-training phase of the selection process, praising HRH the Crown Prince’s vision to develop young Bahrainis through education and training.

Dr Gessling highlighted that the training comprises of a number of specialised courses, including a critical thinking course, an academic writing course, leadership and communication development training, which will include a Level 3 Certificate in Team Leading certified by the UK-based Chartered Management Institute, as well as personality and career path assessment. The Programme will provide students with preparation courses for the IELTS and SAT exams that will be administered by the Programme. The CPISP Director said the courses aim to develop personal skills in leadership and communication, in addition to academic skills. The final ten scholarships will be selected next year based on their grade point averages, results of the IELTS and SAT exams, and the results of the critical thinking course and leadership training.

Dr Gessling thanked BIBF for its support and cooperation with the Programme, praising the quality of training offered by the Institute, and wished the students a successful and productive experience.
