NCC to unify government communication

ManamaThe primary goal of National Communication Centre (NCC) is to unify government messaging mechanism and set the foundation for a consistent country narrative, through communication network on the lines of international best practices, said Dr. Mohamed Ali Bahzad, its Chief Executive Officer, yesterday.

Dr. Bahzad noted the joint efforts towards setting up  the foundations of the NCC on institutionalizing government communications as a basic concept. The NCC’s offices are in the process of being fully equipped and serviced with the latest technology and tools that will enable it to perform its role and duties to the highest standards,  he said. He added that the Centre’s organisational structure is in its final stages, and is aimed at attracting high performing Bahrainis in specialized fields. Dr. Bahzad said that once the initiation phase is finalized, the NCC will assume duties to fulfil its objectives and responsibilities, adding that its primary goal is to unify government messaging and set the foundation for a consistent country narrative.

Also as part of the objectives, the NCC will manage Bahrain’s communication in times of crisis in alignment with all the concerned parties. Dr. Bahzad said that a comprehensive strategy that takes into account the incorporation of all government communication departments in terms of planning, coordination and implementation is essential to guarantee joint initiative and alignment when preparing all forms of media content, and necessary to establish an efficient mechanism for monitoring, collecting and analysing news and information related to Bahrain locally and abroad.

The NCC will initiate international outreach programmes that highlight the Kingdom’s achievements and ensure that Bahrain’s story is accurately and effectively reflected at global level. Dr. Bahzad said the NCC will make capacity-building across all bodies, and provide support to improve government presence on social media and digital platforms.
