The Gulf Hotels Group unveils expansion plans

ManamaThe Gulf Hotels Group yesterday announced its GCC expansion plans and future strategies at the Arabian Travel Market 2017, in which the group is showcasing its flagship projects. 

The group, according to Chief Executive Officer, Garfield Jones, is currently developing the “Gulf Executive Residence” in Juffair due to open early 2018 and has also acquired Block 338 in Adliya Tourism Zone to develop a multi-unit restaurant and leisure facility.

Revealing further, he said the group, as part of its regional expansion strategy, has commenced the development plans of a 223 room five-star Gulf Hotel Business Bay in Dubai. This waterfront property, located 1.5km from Burj Khalifa and Dubai Mall will meet the needs of both the business and leisure market when it opens in late 2019.

The Gulf Hotels Group recently acquired 100 per cent stake in Bahrain Tourism Company, which includes the Crowne Plaza Hotel and the Bahrain Conference Centre, and is also a major shareholder in Bahrain Family Leisure Company.

Commenting on the participation in the Arabian Travel Market, Garfield Jones said the group is showcasing its flagship projects at its stand in the Sheikh Saeed Arena. This includes the five-star property The Gulf Hotel Bahrain Convention & Spa, four deluxe K Hotel in Juffair, the Ocean Paradise Resort in Zanzibar and the new four star properties Asdal Gulf Inn in Seef and The Gulf Suites Hotel Amwaj. 

“The Gulf Hotels Group with over 50 years’ experience has changed beyond recognition, continually expanding and upgrading to meet the modern day demands both in the hospitality and beverage sector,” Jones added.  

The CEO also said that the group will be showcasing the Gulf Convention Centre, which can cater for up to 2000 delegates for various conferences and events, the new build Gulf Spa and the Gulf Executive Residence. The exhibition, which began on April 24 in Dubai, will continue until April 27.
