Banned : Use of mobile phones while on duty
Manama : The Ministry of Health has imposed a ban on use of mobile phones by health sector employees while on duty, DT News has learnt.
According to a circular recently issued by Health Ministry, stricter disciplinary procedures will be taken against violators.
“According to the directives of the higher administration and in line with the career discipline instructions of the Civil Service Bureau, all employees are requested to not use their mobile phones while on duty or receiving patients, be it by making telephone calls or texting on social media networks that has negative effects on the quality of healthcare services,” the circular read.
“The penalties mentioned in decision 22 of the Civil Service Bureau on violations will be strictly applied in this regard,” said the document, which was signed by Primary Care and Public Health Acting Assistant Undersecretary Dr. Waleed Al Mane’a and issued on February 6.
