GPIC gets top award

Manama : The Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company (GPIC) has been awarded the Gold Medal of excellence in the field of social responsibility during the opening of the 11th Session of the Arab Organisation for Social Responsibility regional forum in the United Arab Emirates.

GPIC President Dr. Abdulrahman Jawahery was also awarded the Golden Shield Award and a Certificate of Excellence in the field of social responsibility and in recognition of his leadership and outstanding efforts in the implementation of programmes and mechanisms in the field.

GPIC Managing Director Ibrahim Al Musaiteer congratulated the Executive Management and all employees on the achievement and applauded their important contributions to the community. 

Commenting, Dr. Jawahery said the award is not an achievement for him personally but was due to teamwork and professional management. 

He said GPIC sees social responsibility programmes as a tool to support its efforts to achieve objectives related to social dimensions as well as to help local community keep pace with Bahrain’s development.

On the occasion, GPIC Information Technology and Knowledge Department Manager Adnan Abdul Razak Al Mahmoud, presented a paper on the Company’s philosophy and programmes, as well as its experience in the field of social responsibility.

The paper highlighted the importance of considering social responsibility a part of sustainable development and a standard to measure the success of corporate
performance.
